Building Surveys For Bats

Current planning legislation requires that bats are considered before undertaking any development or alteration works to a building or structure. The protection of species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and the Conservation (Natural Habitats &c.) Regulations 2007 mean that it is an offence to harm or disturb bats, and it also an offence to damage or destroy a place of rest or shelter. Avoiding commiting an offence therefore is important.

We can undertake building surveys to determine whether bats are present and to provide an indication of the likelyhood of bats using a building or structure as a place or rest or shelter.

"The optimum time for surveys is May to September"
